- The 4 LAN ports are segmented into 3 private LAN ports, and 1 public LAN port. The public LAN port is utilized to connect ap1 over the door on NW Davis Street to the public network. The 3 private LAN ports are used to connect two local computers, with another run of cat5 from the editorial offices into a switch in the vendor/office area. A second access point, ap2, is connected to that switch.

Maintenance and System Log
2012-02-20: Starting yesterday, began upgrading the indoor network at Street Roots. Installed the Buffalo WZR600DHP, attached their computers to a private network hanging off of that router. Today, completed two cat5 runs, one to the network switch in the vendor/office area, and the second to the former pulp router over the NW Davis Street doorway. We provided two Accton MR3201A routers, one the ex-pulp, ap1, the second, ap2, is providing a wireless link to their private network. I also left an 8-port Netgear switch to use in case of expansion. Most of the computers in the office are operating on wifi, rather than over a wire, the primary exception being the printer/fax machine. Going to try to stop by again tomorrow to fix up a few lingering issues, e.g. a port-forward to rag in case we lose the VPN tunnel, and to fix the LAN port labelling on the Buffalo (originally, we were going to do 2 public/2 private, ended up doing 1 public/3 private ... might have to revisit that if we expand to the roof. This evening, I spaced out the channels on the 3 2.4GHz radios. We might be providing converage inside OldTownPizza again! LOL. --RussellSenior
2012-12-28: Plugged in a replacement, pulp, to fill the hole left by the pilfered rag. This would have happened sooner, but for the silliness of the holidays. This time, the AcctonCab has been placed on a high window sill and fed via 5V PoE injector/splitter we received with the Accton contribution a while back. --RussellSenior
2012-12-04: Plugged in, also looking at a second AP in an adjacent office and possibly something on the roof. --RussellSenior
