The Free Software Foundation is the umbrella organization under which the [http://www.gnu.org GNU] Project operates. There's been lots of eager talk (recently, spring 2002) about creating something like a FreeNetworkFoundation, although AdamShand recently expressed that perhaps we should avoid the word "free".
